Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a journalist and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. Her reporting of the ineffective police response to DUI cases in Charleston caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in directive from state authorities regarding DUI cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell by awarding her the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell's work in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor and investigative reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. The present role of O'Dell as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC and NBC News. She's covered the Academy Awards The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted several Pre-ShowArrivals Shows to The Emmys And The Golden Globes.
